Freudenberg Household Products (FHP), Germany, and Gala Brush Limited, have entered into a joint venture Freudenberg Gala Household Products Pvt. Ltd for production and sales of mechanised cleaning products. FHP of the Freudenberg Group, which markets under the brands Vileda®, O´Cedar® and Wettex® holds a 60% interest in the joint venture. The new company will be based in Mumbai and will take over the current 200 employees and the business of Gala Brush effective August 2009. The construction of a new, modern plant utilising Gala Brush and FHP technologies is planned for 2010 in India.
The joint venture of two successful family companies is expected to form a strong basis to build up a leading position in the growing mechanised cleaning market in India under the brands Gala® and Vileda®.
The product range of Gala Brush includes brooms, mops, cleaning systems and cloths for the “Consumer” and “Professional” segments. Freudenberg Household Products is a leading international brand manufacturer of household cloths, cleaning products and laundry care equipment.
